Home furnishing companies show fillip with realty looking up

The recession recently gone by, drove home the point effectively that the Indian real estate industry is still not organized and open to cartels operating successfully. The interest rates were no longer as delicious as they used to be and the end products were usually never what had been promised from either the brochure or the sample apartment (which incidentally is demolished just before the keys are handed over) and the price of the apartment is usually five lakhs more than what was discussed during the first meeting.

Furniture majors to hike prices by 10%

KOLKATA: India’s leading furniture makers like Godrej Interio, Home Town, Style Spa and Zuari are planning to increase prices 5-10% due to rise in input costs. While the companies claim raw material prices have shot up, they are reluctant to pass on the entire burden to consumers,fearing a slowdown in sales.
While Godrej Interio has already decided to hike prices 3-5% from next month, Style Spa has just increased prices 5% and Zuari may soon follow suit. Future Group’s furniture retail arm, Home Town, has also decided to review a price hike post-August as an immediate hike may impact robust sales volume.

While there are many big jobs required when furnishing a home, there are also a number of smaller touches that can be added to enhance the overall look. Rugs are one of these and these can serve both decorative and practical purposes. They are available in a variety of styles, sizes and colors meaning that most people should be able to find a suitable rug for the décor of their home.
Rugs can be used on any floor surface. They can be placed on plain carpets to provide a more decorative look and add a little bit of interest to the style of a room. However they are excellent on hard surface floors such as wood and tiles as they can provide a little comfort and warmth on an otherwise bare floor surface.
