Home gym can be high-energy or meditative
Special to the Post-Dispatch Q: I need ideas on decorating a home gym. The space is large and square (about 15 by 15). I have carpet there now, but I'm willing to change that. It needs to hold a treadmill and a weight rack, probably space for some yoga. I'm open to some fun decorating ideas. Do you have any? Your home gym can be fun and functional with some careful planning. The space can be high-energy and exciting or a peaceful environment to fuel mind, body and spirit. Sherwin-Williams' Meditative will prepare you for a quiet and reflective yoga practice. Art posters can display a sports or Zen theme. A mirror will keep you in perfect form, but remember that most yogis prefer to "go within" and not focus on their reflection. The floor should provide a soft landing, so use low-pile carpet, hardwood, soft tiles or rubber mats. A patterned floor can add interest to the space. Install a TV to make treadmill time fly and to play yoga DVDs.
