Get interior design advice -- for free -- at Capers
Got a couch conundrum, a paint problem or a dining room dilemma? You need the help of a design expert -- and no, it needn’t cost you a fortune. Capers Home, in West Seattle, has several affordable options to help you spruce up your abode for spring.
Capers now has two in-house designers, Teresa Holsberry and Marguerite Lynch, and both are providing free, half-hour design consultations. Come in with a single design problem, and they’ll help you put together a plan to fix it. (If you live in West Seattle, the designers will even come to you for the free session.)
The designers can also provide in-home consultations and appointments in the store to help choose furniture, paint color, room arrangements -- even tablescaping. Design services are $75 an hour; if you buy furniture within six weeks, the design fee is credited back to the price of the furniture.
In addition to one-on-one consultations, Capers is also offering free design classes throughout March. On Mar. 12 and 24, you’ll learn how to buy a sofa, as well as what to look for when buying furniture. And on Mar. 19, the topic is how to find your design style. At this class, you’ll spend two hours thumbing through magazines, fabrics and other visuals in order to create your own style notebook.
