Home Depot & Americorp Winterize Homes
Dozens of volunteers were hard at work Thursday, winterizing homes on Buffalo's West Side. Workers from local Home Depot stores teamed up with Americorp volunteers to rehab several houses on Elmwood Avenue this morning. Crews put in new windows, installed storm doors, and upgraded thermostats. Their goal is to make the homes warmer, and more energy efficient for the winter. "It's a good feeling to come out here and help people and to leave with improvements to their home that they're not able to do on their own," said Lynn Cronin, Store Manager of the Home Depot store in Cheektowaga. Today's project included 10 homes, bringing the total number of homes fixed up by Home Depot and Americorp volunteers to 30. http://www.wgrz.com/news/local/ |
