Update: Home Depot closes area bath remodeler business, cuts 130 jobs
Home Depot Inc., one of the world’s largest home improvement retailers, will close its area HD Bath locations on April 1 and lay-off the 130 employees. The locations are at 3101 Roanoke Road and 6301 Equitable Road and not open to the public. Earlier this year, Home Depot announced it would lay off 7,000 people and close 34 Expo stores, as well as its seven HD Bath locations. A Lenexa Expo Design Center had already closed in 2005 as part of a nationwide downsizing of the concept. Jennifer King, spokeswoman for Home Depot, said none of the 15 Kansas City-area Home Depot stores were closing. http://economy.kansascity.com/?q=node/1194 |
