Home electronics: New super-thin LCD TV unveiled
 A super-thin lcd tv has been unveiled by JVC.The next generation technology 32-inch lcd monitor is just 7mm deep and weighs only 5kgs. Among the new innovations boasted by the new screen is the use of LED as a light source, which eliminates the need for mercury. In addition, the new lcd TV uses 50 per cent less material resources and ten per cent fewer parts than other models from the manufacturer. This makes the new model more environmentally friendly than many other LCD monitors by being more energy efficient. The new monitor also offers high-resolution pictures and low-heat radiation performance. A prototype of the new design will be on display at a private venue between January 7th and 10th 2009, alongside the International Consumer Electonics Show (CES). JVC recently announced that it will no longer produce VHS tapes.
