£500k home selling at 30pc less
An executive-style Stafford house, marketed two years ago for nearly half a million pounds, looks set to be sold for just £323,000. The drop, nearly 30 per cent, reflects the current state of the housing market, said a spokeswoman for agents D B Roberts & Partners. The property, 1, Castle House Drive, off Newport Road, is a mortgage repossession and the agents say they have had an offer of £323,000 and will sell at that price unless a higher one is made within 28 days. “We are selling it for a corporate client,” added the spokeswoman. “I am not allowed to say who that is.” She said the price tag was “in accordance with the current market.” The five-bedroom detached house, built about four years ago, boasts good-sized rooms, a private garden and convenient location. Downstairs is an impressive reception hall, a guest toilet and a spacious through lounge with a bay window and French windows to the garden. There is a sitting room, dining/family room, a study, a good-sized kitchen with French windows to the garden, and a utility room. Upstairs has a large gallery landing with open balustrade. The master bedroom and one other bedroom both have an en suite bath/shower room, and there are three other bedrooms and a family bathroom.
