 Synology has released the USB Station, which gives consumers and businesses the opportunity to easily share external USB drive and USB printers on a network.By sharing this facility among Windows and Mac users, work efficiency can be increased on a "platform-mixed environment". Mac users can really benefit from the large file printing support, as they are the consumers who often generate more extensive graphical files, the company states. A statement from Synology read: "With additional FTP support and share-level protection, USB Station is ideal for budget-sensitive home and small workgroup users." For added security, the USB Station comes attached to an external USB disk attached, which can act as a backup target.
