Another accident near PV Home Depot
A three-car rear-end collision on Highway 69 across from the Prescott Valley Home Depot sent one person to the hospital Thursday afternoon and slowed traffic in the eastbound lanes for about an hour, said Prescott Valley police. Since September, when Home Depot and other businesses began opening along that stretch of Highway 69, at least six accidents have occurred in the general area on Highway 69 between Sundog Ranch Road and Emerald Drive. One was a head on collision, but most were rear-end collisions. In Thursday's accident, police cited Prescott resident Tanya Lee Martin, 63, with failure to control her car to avoid a collision after she plowed her Lincoln into the back of a Chevy which then plowed into the back of a Ford Shuttle U van pulling a cargo trailer and carrying four passengers on their way to Phoenix, police said in an email. Police said the Chevy and the Ford van had stopped for a red light. Martin told police traffic began to slow and then stopped abruptly with no warning just prior to the 12:21 p.m. collision. Linda Anderson, 56, of Dewey, drove the Chevy, police said. Rolla Thomas Burrough, 68, of Prescott, drove the shuttle van. An ambulance took David Bryan, a passenger in the Chevy, to Yavapai Regional Medical Center East complaining of a sore neck and head. Passenger Shoshanna Silverberg complained of head pain but refused medical treatment, police said. The Lincoln, Chevy and the trailer of the shuttle van were towed from the scene. The shuttle van itself had minor damage. http://prescottdailycourier.com/main.asp?SectionID=1&subsection ID=1&articleID=62647 |
