Early morning fire destroys mobile home; no injuries reported
A single family mobile home was destroyed in an early morning fire Monday at the Dimond Estates Trailer Court, according to the Anchorage Fire Department. The home, in the park at 1200 W. Dimond Blvd., was reported ablaze at about 12:50 a.m. and 12 units responded, firefighters said. They found the front portion of the trailer engulfed in flames. While some firefighters began battling the blaze, others went in through the rear to search it. No one was inside, and there were no injuries. Firefighters brought the fire under control in about 15 minutes. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but firefighters said there were no working smoke detectors inside.
