Home electronics taken in Haverhill break-in
Thieves broke into a Hadley West Drive apartment and took a television, phone and DVD player, police said. The victim told police he left the apartment Wednesday at 4 p.m. and returned at 10 p.m. to discover his property was missing. Taken were a Hitachi plasma screen television valued at $1,500, an Apple iPhone worth $180 and a Sony DVD player with a $65 value, police said. Vandals damage school playground Vandals caused minor damage to a playground at the Greenleaf Elementary School. A maintenance man at the school called police at 6:13 a.m. Wednesday to report the damage. Police said wooden planks surrounding the playground had been tossed into the parking area, a metal trash barrel was tipped over and a small pile of assorted paper was found burned along the side of the playground.
