Home Heist takes on a too-green design
After gaining widespread fame in Britain, Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan - interior designers and life partners of 23 years - have developed a substantial following in North America, courtesy of an HGTV series called Colin & Justin's Home Heist (HGTV - 7 p.m.).

So, what is the big difference Colin and Justin have found in Canada?

"In Canada, one of the things that you guys have which we don't have is basements," Justin explained in Toronto recently. "We just don't have that. So, you've got an extra layer of bad taste that we don't have in Britain.

"And you guys have got really big houses and small gardens. In Britain, we've got really small houses and big, big gardens. So, maybe if we could fuse a bit of Canada with a bit of Britain, we'd find the perfect home and extinguish bad design once and for all."

Colin & Justin's Home Heist airs its original episodes Tuesday nights on HGTV, with repeat telecasts on Saturday nights. Tonight's show sets its sights on a homeowner named Malcolm, whose house has taken the notion of "being green" in the wrong direction.

- CBC turns its primetime spotlight on this year's Calgary Stampede, focusing its cameras on today's big Wild Card Wrap Up (CBC - 10 p.m.).

- The clever Eli Stone (ABC - 10 p.m.) serves up a good episode from last March in which Eli (Jonny Lee Miller) has visions of a devastating earthquake in San Francisco.

- CBS, meanwhile, repeats a solid episode from The Unit's (CBS - 8 p.m.) second season, in which Brown (Scott Foley) and Williams (Demore Barnes) have to contend with the wild world of voodoo as they try to retrieve the black box from a downed special-forces airplane in Papua New Guinea.

- Best bet on the movie watch: Jennifer Beals's dance routines in Flashdance (MuchMoreMusic - 9 p.m.). They're always worth another look.
